PennDOT held the first round of public open houses for the I-80 Reconstruction Project at Stroudsburg High School on February 20th and 23rd 2014. A total of nearly 200 people attended each meeting. The meetings consisted of displays of purpose and need, traffic information and proposed conceptual Phase I alternatives along the I-80 corridor. Information regarding cultural resources was also available for review and comment, pursuant to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act. The public meeting was an open house forum to review the plans, and ask questions or offer comment. Opinions expressed by the public were noted and will be incorporated into the improvement concepts as the project advances though the project delivery process.
